Last Friday, everyone waved goodbye to 2021, and various networks had their shows to welcome in 2022, including CNN. During the broadcast, though, Andy Cohen took the opportunity to rip into outgoing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Cohen stood alongside CNN anchor Anderson Cooper at Times Square, where he called de Blasio a “horrible mayor” and added a “Sayonara, sucka” in his rant against the politician.
“Watching Mayor de Blasio do his ‘victory lap’ dance after four years of the crappiest job as the mayor of New York,” Cohen said.
Cooper did attempt to interject, saying, “oh, don’t go on a rant. Don’t go on a rant.” However, Cohen proceeded with his thoughts on the mayor.
“The only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been,” Cohen added.
“2022. It’s a new year. … I have a feeling I’m going to be standing right here next year, and you know who I’m not going to be looking at, dancing as the city comes apart? You!”
The Hill was one of the outlets that reached out to de Blasio for comment but were unsuccessful.
