“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin said Thursday that CNN should fire Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer, Allison Gollust after it was revealed that she was romantically involved with former President Jeff Zucker.
On Wednesday, Zucker abruptly resigned his position after disclosing his long-term relationship with Gollust.
“I have to say [the relationship] has been an open secret,” said Hostin. “It’s something that everyone talked about, about the length of their relationship, when it started, and now you have someone like Allison Gollust who says I am going to stay here.
Hostin stated that Gollust started out at CNN as a senior publicist and rose to become the executive vice president at the network.
Co-host Joy Behar asked Hostin if she attributed that promotion to her relationship with Zucker.
“It could be interrupted that way, right?” Hostin responded. “It could be interrupted that she got those positions to be second in command at CNN because of the relationship. It’s the appearance of impropriety.”
Hostin argued that as a woman she wants other women to be held to the same standards that men are held to.
“Why does Allison get to keep her job, when she also had an incredible indiscretion and an incredible lack of judgment?” Hostin added.
