Last week an investigation into former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo resulted in the network president, Jeff Zucker, resigning after disclosing a consensual relationship with a fellow executive.
During a segment on “The View” over the political future of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, guest co-host CNN political commentator Alyssa Farah Griffin went after the politician and the former anchor referring to the two brothers as “egomaniacs.”
“If there’s one thing we’ve learned about the Cuomos, it’s these are egomaniacs,” Griffin said. “Yeah, that’s my — that’s what I know of both of them. I think [Andrew Cuomo] will pursue office again. I think he absolutely thinks that he’s the best, he’s wanted, there’s lane there. I hope there’s not.”
Allegations of sexual misconduct eventually led to Cuomo’s resignation last year from his governor position; meanwhile, CNN fired the former anchor for his involvement in aiding his brother.
Fellow CNN colleague and guest co-host Ana Navarro called the situation with the two players a toxic one.
“With all of these revelations, and it’s also a toxic workplace, it’s the bully that was going on in Albany,” Navarro said.
“It’s just a bridge too far. And I liked the guy, and I thought Chris Cuomo was my friend, but there is way too much toxicity around this entire thing, and it feels like a wrath and a vendetta. It’s up to New Yorkers; I wouldn’t vote for [for Cuomo].”
