NBC News Is Promoting Dasha Burns to Correspondent Role

NBC News is promoting Dasha Burns to the role of a correspondent. Burns joined the network in 2016, where she spent 3 1/2 years as an associate producer and then producer on “Weekend Today” and then transitioned to her reporter role in May 2019.

“Personal News: Thrilled to keep pursuing the big stories and working to put *people* at the forefront of politics and policy at NBC News,” Burns said on Twitter

In her new correspondent role, Burns will be reporting across all NBC News platforms – NBC News, MSNBC, and NBC News Now emphasizing covering the upcoming Pennsylvania and Ohio 2022 midterm races.

“After two cycles in the field covering NBCNews’ County to County initiative, investigations at the U.S.-Mexico border, and much more, Dasha Burns has been named an NBCNews correspondent,” the network said in a press release statement

Burns’ promotion is the latest in MSNBC’s efforts to beef up their coverage heading into the midterm elections. Last week, the network announced that Matthew Dowd is joining the company as a contributor and political analyst.
