One of CNN’s newest acquisitions reportedly helped fund bail for a man suspected of shooting at a mayoral candidate in Louisville, Kentucky.
According to Fox News Digital, CNN+ host Rex Chapman helped raise money for Black Lives Matter Louisville and the Louisville Community Bail Fund, which bailed out Quintez Brown.
Authorities said Brown fired multiple shots at Craig Greenberg but did not strike him. According to the report, Brown posted bail with the help of the Louisville Community Bail Fund and BLM.
Last year, in a tweet, Chapman pledged his financial support for the social justice groups.
“100% of the proceeds on “Block or Charge” BLM tees benefit Black Lives Matter Louisville and the Louisville Community Bail Fund,” he said.
Fox News said Chapman declined to comment for its story. Additionally, CNN has not released a statement either.
Chapman, who spent 12 seasons in the NBA, was hired by CNN to host a show on its new streaming service, CNN+.
Brown previously worked for the Louisville Courier-Journal as an intern and an editorial columnist, according to the newspaper.
