A retired Army Colonel dubbed a “Putin apologist” by left-leaning pundits rejected Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin’s assertion that “the kind of appeasement talk” that he delivered during an interview with Trey Gowdy, is what emboldened Russian President Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine.
Former Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense and retired Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor joined 77 WABC and Frank Morano on “The Other Side of Midnight” early Wednesday.
“Jennifer Griffin is a well-known neocon and a strong advocate for United States interventions everywhere,” Macgregor said. “Her characterization is a standard Neo-Con narrative. Everyone the neocons want to attack is instantly Hitler.”
During Griffin’s rebuttal to Macgregor’s claim that Putin would abide by a deal that would split Ukraine, she said Macgregor should know better from his experience advising former President Donald Trump.
“The kind of appeasement talk that Col. Doug Macgregor, who should know better because when he was in government, he was the one who was advising President Trump to pull all U.S. troops out of Germany, that kind of projection of withdrawal and weakness is what made Putin think that he could actually move into a sovereign country like Ukraine,” Griffin said.
Macgregor continued to label Griffin a “Neo-Con” while adding, “the neocons are almost always identified with the left, but we have a lot on the right and a lot of misguided people.”
