CHGO Sports Joins Chicago Sports Media Scene With ‘Fans-First Approach’

Chicago sports media has an exciting new addition. CHGO Sports launched Friday (March 4), offering a digital platform for fans of the Bears, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox, and Blackhawks to enjoy.

CHGO Sports is led by Kevin Kaduk, the site’s head of content. Kaduk should be a familiar name to fans of the Windy City’s sports scene, having authored the popular Midway Minute newsletter for the past two years.

Prior to that, he was a longtime editor for Yahoo Sports, notably its baseball blog, Big League Stew. But Kaduk is a Chicago-area native, previously a columnist for the Northwest Herald and author of Wrigleyworld, a book chronicling the neighborhood and culture surrounding the Cubs’ beloved ballpark.

A team of more than 20 writers, podcasters, and video personalities — all immersed in the Chicago sports scene — will produce content for CHGO Sports. The site is the latest addition to the All City Network, which launched similar initiatives in Denver (DNVR Sports) and Phoenix (PHNX Sports).

“I’m really proud of the staff we’ve built,” Kaduk told Robert Feder. “It’s a diverse group I think is reflective of the city and we’re working for a people-first company. I think we’re going to connect with Chicago fans in a way that hasn’t been seen before.”

And if there was any doubt about how seriously CHGO Sports takes its identity, the site chose its launch date very intentionally. The city of Chicago was founded on March 4, 1837.

Fans eager to dive in can jump to the CHGO Sports site and YouTube channel for live-streamed podcasts. Seven podcasts — each covering a Chicago team, in addition to sports betting — will be available at those two stops, in addition to your podcast app of choice. A members community for ad-free content, premium articles and video, and a Discord server are also offered.
