NPR Launches Daily Podcast on Russia-Ukraine Conflict

The Russia-Ukraine conflict remains ongoing, and with the issue not ending anytime soon, NPR announced that it’s creating dedicated podcast series to address the war.

“State of Ukraine” will have several episodes per day and includes reporting from NPR journalists on the ground in Ukraine. Furthermore, it features discussions with officials, experts, and other newsmakers.

“NPR is the nation’s leading audio-first newsroom. The organization is uniquely equipped to share on-the-ground reporting, voices, and perspectives from the region – and around the world – in an on-demand format,” Neal Carruth, senior director of on-demand news programming, said.

“We are proud to bring trustworthy and timely journalism to audiences as the conflict unfolds.”

NPR releasing a new podcast comes off the heels of the public radio station receiving $500,000 in emergency funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to provide coverage on the conflict in Ukraine.

“We are grateful for CPB’s support of NPR’s ongoing coverage of the crisis in Ukraine and the surrounding region, one of the most complex and consequential stories of our time,” NPR President John Lansing said in a release. “Our job is to bear witness for our audiences and for history.”
