NBC News’ NBC News Now is heading abroad as the network is launching the service in the United Kingdom this month, the company stated in a press release.
The streaming platform will be made available through Sky U.K. and Virgin Media, but there’s no exact launch date yet of when those across the pond will have access to the content.
However, NBC News states that NBC News Now will be the first U.S.-based streaming network to have international distribution on television in Europe.
“We are proud of the immense success and audience growth we’ve had with NBC News NOW in the U.S. and are excited to bring the world-class reporting representing the best of NBC News to more international audiences,” Satpal Brainch, chief commercial officer for NBCU News Group, said.
NBC News Now will remain ad-supported across all its platforms and will be provided at no additional cost to consumers in the U.K. market. The streaming network achieved record viewership in 2021 with an average of 60 million views and more than 20 million hours watched each month.
