U.S. Senator Ted Cruz is in the news after a video surfaced of him having some sort of dispute with an airline employee that required a law enforcement officer to interfere.
Media outlets such as TheWrap shared the information that Cruz missed his flight and was mad about little rebooking prospects and got mad at the employee. However, despite police needing to come in to defuse the issue, they stated that the situation was minor.
As Cruz was again in the headlines, it gave the late-night circuit material with comedians like Jimmy Kimmel poking fun at the situation.
“A man who looks suspiciously like Ted Cruz has a heated exchange with an airline employee and then after the airline employee, a police officer,” Kimmel stated in his monologue on Monday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
“Apparently, he missed his flight and demanded to speak to the manager a dozen times, to the point where they had to call in security. He should stay out of the airports, right? I mean nothing good ever happens.”
The late-night host was referencing Cruz getting busted for taking a trip to Mexico while Texas faced a winter storm causing many in the state to lose power last year.
“Now, you can’t hear what is being said,” Kimmel continued. “We were able to enhance the audio. This is, according to our experts a pretty good approximation of what Cancun Karen was complaining about.”
Kimmel then proceeded to play the video clip of Cruz’s airport dispute with the employee, but with fake subtitles purporting to demonstrate what he was communicating.
