Audacy Rebrands ESPN Upstate As The Fan Upstate

Audacy has announced that its Greenville/Spartanburg, SC sports talker is no longer called ESPN Upstate. The station has dropped the ESPN affiliation and rebranded as The Fan Upstate.

The station still features its two local shows. Rob Brown is in mid days. Marc Ryan is still in afternoon drive. The change is in the syndicated programming.

Instead of ESPN Radio, South Carolinians will now hear a mix of CBS Sports Radio and the BetQL Audio Network. Damon Amendolara will be heard in mornings. The station will also carry The Jim Rome Show. After Ryan, BetMGM Tonight will air on The Fan Upstate.

“After years of constantly changing, syndicated ESPN content, we have made the exciting move to bring new and relevant sports talk content to our listeners in the Upstate,” said Steve Sinicropi, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Greenville/Spartanburg. “The Fan Upstate will aim to provide the best original sports talk and sports betting content that our fans crave.”

The Fan Upstate is simulcast on multiple signals including WFBC-HD2, 97.7 FM and 97.1FM.
