Sports Radio 96.9 The Ticket is on the air in Oregon. The station signed on this week after Horizon Broadcast group shuffled some signals in the market.
The frequency was home to The Ranch, a classic country station. That station moved down the dial to 95.7 FM. It replaced the group’s adult hits station Bend 95.7. It also gives the format a full-power FM signal.
The Ticket is on an AM and translator combo. The station will carry the entire FOX Sports Radio lineup.
Local identity is not totally missing from the station. It will be the new home of the Seattle Seahawks, Portland Trail Blazers, and Oregon State Beavers in Bend.
“We are pleased to offer Central Oregon sports fans a place to go every waking moment of every day for sports talk radio from the very best personalities in all of sports,” Horizon President and CEO Keith Shipman said in a press release. “Sports Radio 96.9 The Ticket’s lineup is second to none –- and we will be the only station to hear the state’s most popular live sporting events –- the Trailblazers, Beavers and Seahawks. In fact, we’ll offer over 140 live sports broadcasts annually.”
