Donald Trump’s Truth Social startup is experiencing a challenging moment as Reuters reports that two Southern tech entrepreneurs have resigned their senior positions at a critical time for the company’s smartphone-app release plans.
Josh Adams and Billy Boozer, the social media outlet’s chiefs of technology and product development, joined the project last year and quickly evolved into central players to build a social-media empire backed by Trump’s influential brand.
The company has an app for iPhones; however, they have no app for Android phones, which contains more than 40% of the U.S. market, though the social media network has announced they’re looking for an engineer to build one for their consumers.
Boozer refused to comment, and Adams did not reply to a request from Reuters. “If Josh has left… all bets are off,” sources told the media outlet of tech chief Adams, labeling him the “brains” behind Truth Social’s technology.
Another source knowledgeable about the venture told Reuters that Boozer also had a significant leadership position as product chief, running management across technology infrastructure, design, and development teams.
The news agency could not specify the actual events behind the executives’ decision to resign or whether they have been replaced or their duties reassigned.
