Beasley Media Group announced that former National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) President Gordon Smith is joining its board of directors.
In a news release, Beasley announced that the move would take effect on May 25 following a unanimous vote during the company’s board meeting last month.
Smith served the NAB as its president, CEO, and later special advisor until the end of 2021. A former two-term U.S. senator from Oregon, he later served as senior advisor in the Washington offices of Covington & Burling, LLP.
“His outstanding leadership, dedication and service to broadcasters and our nation is unparalleled,” said Company Board Chair and CEO Caroline Beasley. “His understanding of Washington and how to navigate the halls of power will serve our Board well for years to come.”
Smith also served on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
“During my years at NAB’s helm, I was privileged to get to know many of the outstanding firms in membership at the association,” said Sen. Smith. “Among these, Beasley Media Group was always in the upper echelons.”
