Gus Johnson Learns What An Over/Under Is Live On TNT

Do you think gambling talk has overtaken traditional sports coverage? Well, Gus Johnson may have provided evidence on Monday night that you are wrong. During TNT’s coverage of the Philadelphia 76ers’ Game 2 win over the Toronto Raptors, Greg Anthony had to explain to the broadcaster what an over/under is.

“I have to be honest with you,” Johnson said as a FanDuel graphic featuring live odds appeared on the screen in the fourth quarter. “I don’t know what over/under stuff means.”

The live odds had taken the over/under down from 217 to 216.5. Anthony explained that it was the number bettors had to use to predict the combined score of the game.

“My man!” Gus Johnson responded. “That UNLV education. You lived in Vegas, right?”

“Ivy League of the desert, baby,” Anthony responded.

Daily Racing Form tweeted out a clip of the video with the message “Remember it is never too late to learn about the basics of sports betting.”

Johnson and Anthony are set to call one more game for TNT. They will be in Milwaukee on Wednesday when the Bucks host the Chicago Bulls.
