Talk show host Piers Morgan is reacting to recent comments made about him by former President Donald Trump regarding their recent interview on Morgan’s brand-new show. The “Uncensored” host appeared on Monday’s “Fox & Friends” with Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade.
“President Trump, it was a fantastic interview, everybody that I know who watched it thought that he came out of it well. Why you’re going completely crackers for a 30-second promo, I don’t know.”
In a statement, Trump criticized Morgan for his interview style and the narrative he tried to create.
“Ratings for the Piers Morgan interview with me were great! Unfortunately, after that interview, his show bombed completely because of the fake narrative he tried to portray. The fact is, I got a new close-up glimpse at Piers, and he no longer has what it takes,” Trump said. “It’s over for him!”
Trump was reportedly unhappy that Morgan promoted the interview under the guise of him becoming unhinged regarding questions about the 2020 election. “I simply used a promo to sell the interview to get people to watch. It worked! Everybody watched!” Morgan said.
Morgan went on to say that the most interesting thing about the interview with Trump is how many people are willing to have Trump address some of the most pressing issues.
“To be fair to Donald Trump, he does generate a lot of heat for this stuff,” Morgan said referring to the discussion about election integrity. “To get 64 million different views from different platforms, it’s fascinating to me that you can create a massive audience from this stuff.”
