As Twitter begins the transition over to Elon Musk as its new owner, changes are occurring within the social media platform. CNN relayed the information regarding the company’s decision to part ways with two leaders.
Twitter’s general manager of consumer, Kayvon Beykpour, and revenue product lead, Bruce Falck, announced their exits from the company on Thursday. Beykpour, who has been with the company for seven years, stated his departure was not his decision.
“This isn’t how and when I imagined leaving Twitter … [Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal] asked me to leave after letting me know that he wants to take the team in a different direction,” Beykpour said.
“I wanted to take a moment to thank all the teams and partners I’ve been lucky enough to work with during the past 5 years. Building and running these businesses is a team sport,” Falck tweeted regarding his departure from the company.
Furthermore, with two senior leaders now gone, Twitter is also implementing a hiring freeze except for “business critical” positions and pulling back on other non-labor costs.
The latest shifts within Twitter on Thursday likely added a feeling of suspense among some employees since Musk announced his $44 billion takeover agreement last month.
