UPCOMING EVENTS

60 Minutes Channel Is Coming to Pluto TV

CBS News’ 60 minutes will continue its venture into the streaming service with a new channel on Pluto TV, Paramount’s ad-supported streaming service, later this year, per TV Newser.

The show’s executive producer Bill Owens notified the staff that there’s a deal for a 60 Minutes channel, running in collaboration with the Pluto TV programming squad, and be led by 60 Minutes senior producer Nicole Young.

Young will remain as Scott Pelley’s producer on the linear broadcast while overseeing the new streaming venture. Control Room 33 and associate producer Matt Riley are aiding Young with the project.

60 Minutes’ new venture with Pluto TV allows the 60 Minutes team to share the historical library of the program’s content with non-traditional viewers.

There are still details to be sorted out and more information to trickle out but this is the CBS show’s latest attempt to grow its audience outside their Sunday night timeslot.

A few months ago, it did pull its streaming service spinoff from Paramount+, so it will be interesting to see how this digital venture goes for the show.
