WBAL NewsRadio, Navy Football Agree to Multi-Year Extension

Navy Football will continue to be heard on its longtime flagship station WBAL NewsRadio 1090 AM / 101.5 FM. On Monday, the two sides announced a multi-year extension which includes lengthy pregame and postgame shows and other content focused exclusively on The Midshipmen.

In a release, Naval Academy Athletic Director Chet Gladchuk discussed the program’s long history with WBAL and the importance of bringing familiar voices back to the fans.

“Our long-standing relationship with true broadcast professionals is much appreciated by our alumni, fans, coaches, and Midshipmen,” he said. “These are exciting times for Navy Football and Navy Athletics. It will be great to continue to hear about it and follow the action on WBAL for years to come.”

The Voice of the Midshipmen Pete Medhurst will return for another season alongside analyst Joe Miller, sideline reporter Keith Mills, executive producer Johnny Goldsmith, and studio host Scott Wykoff.

“We are thrilled to continue to bring Navy Football to our listeners every Saturday during the fall, including the time-honored tradition of the Army-Navy game,” said Dan Joerres, President & General Manager for WBAL NewsRadio, 98 ROCK and WBAL-TV. “It’s truly an honor to partner with such a prestigious institution.”

The 2022 Navy Football season kicks off against the University of Delaware Saturday, September 3, at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
