Truth Social Refutes Story of Donald Trump Leaving Their Board

According to CNBC, former President Donald Trump, his son, and others are no longer on the board at Truth Social.

The company is reportedly being investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a proposed merger with what’s referred to as a “blank check” company called Digital World Acquisitions Corp (DWAC).

Truth posted a message Thursday refuting the report and slamming the unnamed journalist who published the story.

“Contrary to an “exclusive” fake news story filed by a reporter who is incapable of understanding state business records, Donald Trump remains on the board of Trump Media and Technology Group,” the statement read. “In fact, the reporter acknowledges that Trump’s title is “chairman” but apparently has no clue what a chairman presides over. Hopefully, this helps clarify things.”

According to the Florida Department of State’s Division of Corporations, the website states that Trump was one of six board members who was removed on June 8.

Former President Donald Trump reportedly left the board of his social media company just weeks before it was issued subpoenas by the Securities and Exchange Commission and a federal grand jury in Manhattan, records show.

His son Donald Trump Jr. also departed the board, along with Wes Moss, Kashyap Patel, Andrew Northwall, and Scott Glabe.

The report indicates Sen. Elizabeth Warren penned a letter to SEC in November, which raised the possibility that DWAC “may have committed securities violations by holding private and undisclosed discussions about the merger as early as May 2021, while omitting this information in [SEC] filing and other public statements.”
