Jake Tapper Calls Latest Testimonies in Jan. 6th Hearings “Shocking”

The Jan. 6 Committee hearings continued Tuesday with testimony that some pundits called “shocking.” CNN’s Jake Tapper and several panelists commented on excerpts broadcast during the event which showed White House counsel Pat Cipollone denying the existence of any evidence of a stolen election.

Tapper described a chaotic scene that played out at the White House featuring a shouting match between Cipollone, former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, and Michael Flynn, the retired Army general, and onetime Trump adviser.

“What we have heard is an extraordinary screaming match. People could hear outside the door for the white house counsel, and their clients were pushing back on team crazy,” CNN Correspondent Jamie Gangeshe said per Mediate.

The U.S. House Select Committee was established to investigate the Jan 6th riots at the Capitol. The committee may present its findings to the Justice Department for possible criminal prosecution of Donald Trump/

“Donald Trump had appointed this unhinged attorney, Sidney Powell, to, in her mind, become an independent counsel investigating this election fraud, and who knows if it had not been for Cipollone, Eric Herschmann who was also in the White House counsel’s office and the staff secretary Derek Lyons — if it had not been for them, who knows what would have happened?” Tapper said.
