Peter King, author of the column Football Morning in America, wrote this week that he expects to have a new co-worker in the NBC halls this Fall.
King wrote on Monday that he expected, even “forecast” is his last column that Berry would be a free-agent this summer. Last week Berry made the announcement that he would not be returning to ESPN.
The NFL Insider for NBC says that he is mystified how ESPN could let Berry walk out the door.
” I don’t understand ESPN letting the biggest name (by far) in the fantasy football business walk away,” wrote King, “and I probably never will.”
King says that he feels like there needs to be some welcome material waiting on Berry with NBC.
“I expect NBC (as Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported) to land Berry,” predicted King. “And if so, I expect that he will be a significant part of the Football Night in America show—in both fantasy-forecasting and football-oddsmaking stuff.”
King also added the reminder that Berry wouldn’t be the only new face to the set if that were to happen.
“If that happens, there will be two new faces on the Sunday night show: new analyst Jason Garrett and Berry.”
