Rich Eisen could become broadcasting’s next big-time free agent. Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reports that Eisen’s contract with NFL Network expires this summer and there is no new deal in place at this time.
The NFL is focused on keeping Eisen. He has been the face of the network since it launched in 2003.
New broadcasting deals for the NFL have put a lot more money in play though. Michael McCarthy notes that plenty of others covering the league have cashed in. Rich Eisen has certainly noticed.
McCarthy reached out to the NFL Network for comment, though the network declined.
Eisen joined the NFL Network after eight years with ESPN. He signed his current contract in the summer of 2018. The four year deal is set to exipre. This is his 20th year in his current role.
At this time, if there are other networks pursuing Eisen, that news is not public.
In addition to his work for NFL Network, Rich Eisen also hosts his daily radio show and studio coverage of Monday Night Football for Westwood One.
