Syndicated radio host Sean Hannity said no artist or commentator should ever live in fear that they’re going to be canceled simply because of their point of view.
During Hannity’s show Friday, he discussed his dislike for Bill Maher and others who have different opinions, but said those opinions should remain free-flowing and not be censored.
“Bill Maher and I kind of hate each other, he hates me and I’m not a big fan of his, although it’s people like me when he was doing “Politically Incorrect” and other conservatives that said that show should not get canceled.”
Hannity said conservatives are in favor of free speech and added,” I don’t see how the left doesn’t see the danger in this.”
“I don’t want any show canceled. I don’t want any comedian canceled,” said Hannity. “The reason conservatives are quoting Maher occasionally is because the left-wing has gone so far overboard.”
Hannity was joined by podcaster and comedian Adam Carolla who remarked that “something has happened to the left.”
“When are progressives ever going to pump the brakes?” Carolla asked. “You just wonder what the end game is, I don’t know if there is an end game.”
