Jimmy Failla Slams CBS News for Childhood Obesity Report

Fox News Radio’s Jimmy Failla criticized a report from CBS News that blames climate change for rising childhood obesity. Failla made the comments during his national radio show Monday

“CBS Mornings” co-host Nate Burleson suggested that children would be more inclined to work out if it weren’t for hotter weather caused by climate change.

“A new study showing how climate change, specifically higher temperatures, is making our children more inactive and more obese,” he said.

The study published in Journal Temperature found that children were 30% less fit than their parents were at their age. However, Burleson did leave open the possibility that technology and social media are contributing factors when it comes to childhood obesity.

“Now I do want to give him (Burleson) credit for at least acknowledging the role electronics play and why kids are not going out to play,” Failla said. “But anybody that tells you with a straight face that climate change has anything to do with any of this is a complete idiot.”

Failla argued that we have no proof that the recent heat wave that was felt around the country is abnormal in any way.

“If you look back on previous calendars, July has been hotter than a stock tip from Paul Pelosi,” Failla said jokingly. “It’s always going to be hot, but the media blames it on climate change because it’s their agenda.”
