iHeartMedia’s News KOGO in San Diego announced the debut of “Slater & Lou” on weekdays from 5-7 p.m., beginning Sept. 1. The show will be co-hosted by conservative talk show hosts Mike Slater and Lou Penrose.
The pair will partner for a fast-paced, news-driven talk program for San Diegans focusing on the day’s top local and national stories.
“Mike and Lou represent a fresh approach to talk radio,” iHeartMedia San Diego Director of News and Sports Programming Brian Long said.
“Joining KOGO’s line-up on the drive home next to ‘champion of government reform,’ Carl DeMaio will provide the show with a great forum to deliver their unique perspectives to the KOGO audience.”
Slater frequents as a guest on FOX News and FOX Business. Additionally, he has filled in for Glenn Beck on his radio and TV shows and has been a guest host of the “Dr. Drew Show” on CNN Headline News.
“What a joy it’s been to raise my family in San Diego and spend the last 11 years connecting with an incredible audience on AM 760,” Slater said. “I am grateful for such loyal listeners and look forward to having them join me on KOGO. Partnering with Lou is a dream come true.”
Penrose has served as a host on KOGO since August 2019. In addition to his on-air position, Penrose runs a full-service government relations and public affairs consulting company.
