Charissa Thompson has been with a multitude of networks but there is one that she considers “home”.
Thompson joined the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz and was asked about her beginning days and her journey in sports media that featured stops with including Versus, Big Ten Network, FOX Sports Net, Yahoo! Sports, ESPN, and FS1. Le Batard wanted to know of all of those stops, which was the most fun to work at.
“That’s a hard question to answer,” Thompson bemoaned. “It’s like ‘who’s your favorite child'”.
She would then say that she has learned something everywhere she has been.
“Every job for me was an opportunity to learn and get better.”
Then she revealed that FOX always has a special place in her heart.
“FOX has always been home to me,” Thompson replied. “That was a place that, when we launched FS1 I would be doing Extra during the day. So I would work 8 to 3 in the entertainment space and then I’d work at FOX from 8-11 at night with Andy Roddick, Donovan McNabb, Gary Payton, Gabe Kapler. I was on that when we tried to recreate The Best Damn Sports Show. That was a place that they’d let me bring my dog.”
“That’s a place that has always been home for me. So to answer the question succinctly: anywhere I am. It’s sports and you guys know better than anyone, it’s our own locker room.”
