Author and Fox News contributor Joe Concha is reacting to the fallout of the media coverage of Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman’s interview with NBC News last week.
Reporter Dasha Burns has faced tons of criticism for how she explained her interactions with Fetterman before the cameras were turned on. Burns noted how Fetterman was assisted by closed captioning technology following a severe stroke.
Fetterman’s wife has called on the network to apologize and for Burns to suffer consequences for reporting her observations of Fetterman’s impaired communication skills.
“What do people do on the Senate floor?” Concha during an appearance on Fox & Friends First Tuesday. “What this {controversy] is doing is taking away from looking at Fetterman’s positions on issues and focusing more on his health.”
Concha criticized the mainstream media for its stance on Fetterman NBC’s performance.
“If you want to see exhibit A on journalism morphing into activism here it is,” said Concha. “Here you have Dasha Burns doing her job, she’s reporting, she’s saying that we sat in a room with John Fetterman, we were the first reporting crew to do so and this is what I observed.”
Concha said that Burns be commended for not bowing down to “the mob,” which he said primarily exists on Twitter.
“The press is doing this to try and protect John Fetterman, who had a massive stroke and has not recovered,” he added.
