WGN Radio is getting into the Halloween spirit as the station will air “WGN Radio Theatre Spook-tacular with Carl Amari” on Monday, October 31, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m (h/t Radio Online).
The six-hour special will contain classic Halloween shows, including “My Favorite Husband” starring Lucille Ball, “The Whistler,” “Our Miss Brooks” starring Eve Arden, “Suspense” starring Ronald Colman and others.
2022 represents another year that Amari carries this tradition, but the radio station is going late with their hours as last year’s “Halloween Radio Theatre with Carl Amari” went from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“I’m super excited to be on the air live this Halloween evening to bring WGN listeners some of the spookiest shows from the golden age of radio,” Amari said last year before the special. “It’s going to be a ‘hair-raising’ four hours, so don’t miss it!”
These last years, Amari has spent time licensing and conserving original radio broadcasts and is the curator of the Classic Radio Club and board member of the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago.
