Amazon Prime Video is stepping into the sports talk game.
The streaming platform is launching a 12-hour daily schedule of sports talk shows. From 8:00 AM-8:00 PM ET, the network will feature shows hosted by Cari Champion, Master Tesfatsion, and Rennae Stubbs, among others.
“We are dipping our toe. We’re testing and learning, but we are very excited about it,” Amazon Vice President of Global Sports Video Marie Donoghue told Andrew Marchand of The New York Post.
From 8:00-10:00 AM ET, Madelyn Burke and Ben Lyons will host Bonjour Sports Talk. The show will also repeat and air from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. The Cari Champion Show will air from 12:00-2:00 PM. Eitan Levine and Drexton Clemons will host Sports Talk Game Breakers from 2:00-4:00 PM before Tesfatsion will host From the Desk of Master T and Stubbs hosts The Power Hour each for one hour. The Greatest Hour of All-Time will showcase the best of each day’s programming from 6:00-7:00 PM, followed by The Backup Plan hosted by Hana Ostaapchuk and Jason Spells until 8:00 PM.
“We want to push the talent and the producers to take this approach and have more deeper and interesting conversations,” Donoghue said. “Nothing is set in stone so we will iterate and adapt, but that’s how we want to go out.”
Marchand reports Michael Davies, the Executive Producer of Jeopardy! and founder of Men in Blazers, has been tabbed to lead the new content for Amazon Prime Video.
