There have been many “weddings of the century”. Most involve royalty, some involve A-list celebrities, and then there’s what happened this morning on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh.

The Fan Morning Show members Dorin Dickerson and Adam Crowley officiated the wedding of Pittsburgh couple Denny and Shelly live on the air this morning from the LeMont Pittsburgh restaurant.

The station created the Fan Wedding promotion earlier this year, and chose the couple, who were originally scheduled to get married on November 12th, in October.

Hosts Chris Mack and Colin Dunlap questioned Dickerson and Crowley about whether they were actually ordained ministers and whether they were qualified to fill out the required paperwork to ensure the couple was legally married. After assurances, the couple was legally married live on the show.

The show hosted the entire program from the restaurant, and discussed their favorite wedding reception dance songs. The Macarena didn’t make the cut, while the Cha-Cha Slide and Cupid Shuffle, among others, were included as songs the hosts must dance to.

The couple told 93.7 The Fan they have been engaged for the past nine years, with 2020 being a seminal year in their relationship. Shelly’s sister passed away from cancer, with the loss of her stepfather happening eight months later. She then noticed her mother was struggling with the effects of memory loss, so the couple decided it was time to officially tie the knot.

“I thank God every day that I have him in my life. My mother now lives with us, as I am her caregiver,” she told 93.7 The Fan in the couple’s entry into the contest. “Denny never complains and he is my rock!”
