Keith Olbermann Calls Out MSNBC Hosts After Tiffany Cross’ Firing

Reaction over MSNBC’s decision to oust Tiffany Cross continues to fallout and on Monday, podcaster and former news host Keith Olbermann went after the MSNBC lineup.

Olbermann questioned why fellow news hosts at MSNBC, such as Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow, have not spoken up about the issue regarding the firing of Cross.

“MSNBC fired its most outspoken and most probably its bravest host because Fox News complained about her,” Olbermann said on Monday’s episode of “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.”

“Where is the statement of protest about the firing of Tiffany Cross? From Lawrence O’Donnell? Where is the anger? From Chris Hayes. Where is the condemnation of a woman’s voice silenced from Alex Wagner? Where is the threat to walk out, to boycott, to quit, to stand on principle? From Rachel Maddow.”

The podcaster then went on to tell his listeners that although some liberal hosts and networks might appears as though they’re your ally, they are not.

“Whatever happens in the voting tomorrow, remember at all times that you and I do not have a true friend or an ally at MSNBC, at CNN, at CBS, at ABC,” Olbermann added.

“We have television performers who will make sure they are seen in the easy fights. But when it is bad, who will draw a line and fight and protect one thing and one thing alone their paychecks.”

Since the firing of Cross, one of the few at MSNBC to address the issue: Joy Reid on Friday’s edition of “Reid Out.”

“I just want to say one quick thing about my friend, colleague and sister, Tiffany Cross,” Reid said. “She’s not just my friend. She is my sister. I love her. I support her. I was boosting for her to get the show that she created, “The Cross Connection.”

On Monday evening, Hayes did send out a tweet speaking on Cross’ firing after Olbermann had recorded his show.
