The COVID-19 pandemic proved to be one of the most tumultuous times in recent history. Lockdowns, masking, and in some cases, death took a toll on the American people.
News Talk 105.9 WMAL Radio host Vince Coglianese Monday reacted to a “Saturday Night Live” skit which made fun of the pandemic and some of the protocols that were in place to keep people safe.
“Have you seen that Saturday Night Live sucks?” Coglianese said. “I know it sucked for a while, but it really sucks now.”
Coglianese pointed out that the show has replaced the entire cast and writers have struggled to gain traction with a shrinking audience.
“There was one exception this weekend and I have to give them credit for this,” Coglianese said. “They mocked COVID, years into COVID they finally decided to mock COVID. It is now safe to come out and make fun of COVID.”
According to Yahoo, the satirical skit plays off the scenario of doctors recommending their patients to “get COVID” to solve their issues. The running joke suggests COVID-19 as a solution for skipping work.
“A sketch, amusing, I’ll admit,” said Coglianese. “I guess years too late. They are finally putting something together.”
