After Twitter saw another mass exodus of employees on Thursday, new owner Elon Musk revealed on Friday the social media platform has a new policy regarding free speech.
“New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach,” Musk tweeted.
“Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter. You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet.”
As a result, some Twitter accounts will be restored, but that doesn’t mean there is no freedom of consequence for those who violate these new rules set by Musk.
“Kathy Griffin, Jordan Peterson & Babylon Bee have been reinstated,” Musk added. “Trump decision has not yet been made. Note, this applies just to the individual tweet, not the whole account.”
