The saga regarding GMA3 hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ alleged affair continues to be in the spotlight and ABC News staffers are at the boiling point with the scandal.
In the newsletter, The Confider, which Barrett News Media obtained, staffers blame the network for turning what could have been a one- or two-day story into a multi-week tabloid craze.
“It’s a f–ked-up situation and there’s probably going to have to be some sacrificial lambs,” one network insider told Confider.
Page Six also reported that the two wouldn’t return to “GMA3” while ABC continued its internal investigation into their off-air relationship with no clear timetable on how long the review will take.
“I understand that the continuing coverage can be distracting from the incredibly important work our team does here at ABC News,” ABC News boss Kim Godwin wrote in a memo to staff, which The Confider relayed.
“Amy and T.J. will remain off-air pending the completion of an internal review, and there will be a rotation of anchors at GMA3 for the time being. It is my hope that we will continue to focus our energy on what we do best, and I want all of you to know how immensely proud I am of your hard work and professionalism.”
