Carl Jackson Reacts To Death of ABC News Producer

Podcaster and radio host Carl Jackson expressed sympathy and remorse for the untimely death of ABC News producer Dax Tejera. Jackson, who was filling in for Brandon Tatum on Tuesday, said that the story is heartbreaking.

“You should see a picture of this guy,” Jackson said. “Young, good-looking, and healthy.”

ABC News President Kim Godwin sent a memo to employees to announce his death, saying Tejera’s energy, passion, and love for the show “shined every Sunday morning.”

“It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, Dax Tejera passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night,” Godwin said in a memo.

“I don’t mean to politicize this, and I don’t know why he died, I’m only saying we’ve seen this a lot,” said Jackson. “Morticians have seen this a lot where younger people are dying suddenly of heart attacks.”

Tejera served as the Executive Producer of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” Godwin said Tejera had a tremendous passion for the show.

“You can read stories about morticians that are finding blood clots the size of intestines, they are so large,” said Jackson. “Tejera was a young, ambitious guy that had risen through the ranks that had done a great job for George Stephanopoulos. This man leaves behind a wife and two daughters. This is why this conversation is so important.”
