Chris Russo: James Dolan Stopped Paying Attention to Me When I Went To SiriusXM

New York Knicks and New York Rangers owner James Dolan is no stranger to having beef with people who are publicly critical of him.

But former WFAN host Chris “Mad Dog” Russo told Dan Patrick on Thursday that when it came to the relationship between Dolan and Mad Dog and co-host Mike Francesa, there had never been any real bad blood.

“He was pretty good,” Russo said. “A little bit, but we took his side with Marv Albert, which was a big deal.”

“There was probably a time in the late 90s early 2000s where he was annoyed at us,” Mad Dog added later. “But I think for the most part I haven’t had a lot of dealings with him.”

Russo officially joined SiriusXM in 2008. He said Dolan doesn’t catch a ton of satellite radio. On the flip side, though, Chris noted that in doing his national radio show he’s not so hyper focused on what’s going on with Dolan.

“Now he says he doesn’t listen to me necessarily on Sirius,” Russo said. “So I’m not as wrapped up in it.”
