One of the biggest criticisms of any conversation between the political right and left are that neither side feels they can get their point across without being interrupted. Conservative radio host Mike Gallagher is trying to do something about it.
Gallagher has announced a new podcast, that will publish in his already existing podcast feed for his nationally syndicated radio program, called The No Interruptions Podcast.
He said the idea came to him after noticing a complete absence of any similarly styled debate programs.
“Even when it’s not a troll, I do interrupt people too much. And I know that and I’m working on it,” Gallagher said. “But I came up with an idea the other day. Why don’t we do a podcast that has no interruptions whatsoever, but yet presents challenging, complicated, compelling issues in a debate format with no shouting and cross talk and interrupting each other?”
Gallagher continued by noting that even though the podcast will air on his podcast feed, he will simply serve as the moderator between the two guests of opposing political ideologies. He admitted he wasn’t a fan of his role, but believed it made for an interesting conversation.
“It was torture to be the moderator. You know what? It worked. It was pretty good. In fact, it was very good. And I think you’re gonna like it. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, download the podcast,” Gallagher said. “It’s the first installment of what we trust will be many more episodes of The Mike Gallagher Show. The only rule, no interruptions allowed. You hear the right, you hear the left. I just keep the train on the tracks.”
