A report from The Daily Signal claims that a policy from Fox News allows employees to use bathrooms that align with their gender identity and not their biological sex, as well as a requirement that employees refer to trans colleagues by their preferred names and pronouns. Conservative commentator Matt Walsh says it’s the latest in a string of evidence that Fox News isn’t the conservative bastion people think it is.
In a thread on Twitter, Walsh alleged he’s been “blacklisted” by Fox News for his outspoken views on transgender issues.
“I’ve been personally blacklisted from appearing on the network because of my stance on the issue…I’ve heard it off the record from Fox producers. It gets worse,” wrote Walsh. “Tucker (Carlson) fought behind the scenes against my blacklisting, and even managed to have me on a few times over the past year.
“But now that he’s gone, there’s no stopping Fox’s march leftward. And now there is zero daylight between Fox and MSNBC on the trans issue. Fox needs to get the full Bud Light treatment. They are actively working to suppress conservative voices while promoting leftism in its most radical form. Enough is enough.”
Fox News has defended itself from accusations of being “woke”, by saying it “is compliant with all Human Rights laws mandated by the cities and states in which we operate, including New York and California.”
Walsh has been an outspoken opponent of the transgender community. He produced a documentary entitled What Is a Woman? and has been described as transphobic. Magazine The New Republic labeled him the “Transphobe of the Year” in 2022. He has repeatedly called media professionals “pedophiles” for providing gender reassignment surgeries to adolescents.
