Yesterday, NewsNation announced Markie Martin had been promoted to co-anchor of the network’s Morning in America program, which has been extended to four hours. With that extension comes the cancellation of Early Morning, leaving anchor Mitch Carr without a home.
In a LinkedIn post, Carr shared that with the network expanding its morning show, he would be departing.
“Bad news about the news: NewsNation has made the decision to cancel Early Morning. I appreciate the opportunity,” Carr wrote. “And if you need a bilingual anchor or host with 14 years in the business across day parts with large local market and national cable news experience as well, I will be available.”
Carr had anchored the show since June 2022. He joined NewsNation after previously working as an anchor at 12News in Phoenix.
