Charlie Kirk: Producer Having Pronouns In Email Turned Me Off of Fox News

Date:

During an interview on The Megyn Kelly Show on Sirius XM, Charlie Kirk spoke out against Fox News allowing its employees to share their preferred pronouns in the workplace. Kelly brought up the topic after it was reported that Fox had established guidelines for addressing gender-related issues.

“They’re asking me to come on the show, and I send it to my team — I said, ‘We are not going on this show,'” Kirk said.

These guidelines adhere to the applicable regulations in New York City. According to Mary Margaret Olohan’s report in The Daily Signal, Fox News employees have the right to use restrooms that correspond to their gender identity rather than their biological sex. They are also allowed to dress in accordance with their preferred gender and must be addressed by their preferred name and pronouns while in the workplace.

The report included an assertion from a source stating that producers for the show Fox News Tonight were instructed by network executives to refrain from mocking trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who replaced Tucker Carlson on the program. Fox News has extensively covered the story involving Mulvaney.

Kirk expressed his astonishment at the situation, stating, “I guess criticizing Dylan Mulvaney is the central piety you can’t do, I guess, now at any major media network. It’s remarkable, and he is the holy right — everything else is touchable.”

“It’s interesting. I still go on Fox, and I have good friends. Laura’s been great to me. And I’ll be honest, without Fox, I don’t know if I would’ve had the kind of career I’ve had. And obviously, they’ve changed, but I’m thankful to them, but at the same time, I’m very critical of where they’re going. I’ll say this, Megyn, I got an email asking me to go on a program a couple of weeks ago, and the producer had his pronouns in his email signature,” Kirk said.

Regarding The Daily Signal report, a spokesperson from Fox News provided a statement to Barrett News Media affirming the network’s adherence to the Human Rights laws enforced by the cities and states where they conduct operations, including New York and California.

“Fox News Media is in compliance with all Human Rights laws mandated by the cities and states in which we operate, including New York and California,” the spokesperson said.
