Fox News host Sean Hannity aired a sit-down interview with Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA). Buck Sexton hopes that it was the first of many civil conversations between the right and left.
During The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show Tuesday, the pair discussed the reaction to the interview, with Sexton arguing that while Newsom appeared to be a “slick liar”, he appreciated the willingness to appear in an interview on Fox News.
“I appreciate that Sean took the perspective of ‘Let’s actually talk policy’. It was amazing. You actually saw two people who disagree, who sat down, and actually had a conversation,” Sexton said. “When was the last time you saw that happen? We gave (Donald) Trump a lot of credit for going on CNN.
“What’s interesting in that context is CNN is not gonna let that happen again. Because Trump just did a flying elbow off the top buckle to that network, and they thought it was going to be something where they’d be able to pin him to the matt. We need more of this.”
Early Nielsen ratings report that nearly 2 million viewers tuned into Fox News to watch the interview between Hannity and Newsom.
