Wondering why you haven’t heard more from Jeff Passan in recent days? Well, he took to Twitter on Monday to explain that he is most certainly not on vacation.
The ESPN reporter says he suffered a broken back after a tree limb fell on him during cleanup after a storm.
“The good news: I still have use of my arms, legs, and Twitter fingers,” he wrote. “The bad news: I have a broken back.”

Passan assures his followers that he will heal. Right now, his top concern is pain management.
He thanked ESPN for their support as well as the KU Medical Center in Kansas City. He also had a message to his sources with the Major League Baseball trade deadline approaching.
“My back may be shot, but my phone still works.”
