Philadelphia teams are having a moment. That was apparent in the spring book. Whether it was the 76ers’ playoff push or the Phillies’ defense of the NL Pennant, listeners tuned to sports radio to hear all about it. Most of them tuned into WIP during the spring book.
In the format’s target demo (Men 25-54), WIP finished second in weekday prime (M-F 6a-7p) with a total line share of 11.2. Beasley’s 97.5 The Fanatic was tied for 12th with a 3 share.
Morning drive also produced a second-place finish for WIP. Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie delivered a 12.8 total line share. That was WIP’s top performance for the quarter. The John Kincade Show with John Kincade, Bob Cooney, and Pat Egan were 11th with a 2.5 share.
The competition was closest in the middays. 97.5 The Fanatic had a 3.1 share, 9th place finish thanks to Anthony Gargano. For WIP, Joe Giglio and Hugh Douglas ranked 3rd with a total line share of 8.0.
Finally, afternoons belonged to WIP as well. John Marks and Ike Reese were 1st with a 12.3 total line share. 97.5’s The Best Show Ever with Tyrone Johnson, Ricky Bottalico, Jen Scordo, and the recently released Hunter Brody helped The Fanatic grab 10th. The show had a 3.4 share, which was the station’s top number and ranking for the quarter.
