The summer months are generally slower for media consumption, but that didn’t slow down NPR News Now from maintaining its spot at the top of the podcast world in July.
The podcast produced by National Public Media finished as the top podcast by weekly average downloads according to Triton Digital’s rankings. It has stayed in the top spot every month in 2023 thus far.
Crime Junkie finished second in the rankings, topping Dateline NBC, and NPR’s Up First.
The Dan Bongino Show from the Cumulus Podcast Network remained in the top 10, finishing in the 7th overall place.
The Charlie Kirk Show from the Salem Podcast Network and the Mark Levin Podcast from Cumulus both rose in the month of July to hit the top 25. Kirk’s show finished 21st, while Levin’s podcast took the 23rd spot.
Overall, the latest rankings were encouraging for NPR, as eight of the top 30 podcasts overall were produced by the network.
