A new CBS News poll of Republican voters has revealed several takeaways. However, conservative media pundits could find positives in one of the poll’s answers.
According to the findings, 71% of Donald Trump voters believe that what the former President “tells you is true”. 63% responded similarly when asked about their friends and family.
When asked if conservative media figures are telling the truth, 56% responded “yes”. That figure is higher than the 42% of respondents who believed that religious leaders are telling them the truth.
Additionally, when like Republican primary voters were asked about media coverage surrounding the 2024 campaign, 50% responded that there has been too much coverage centered on Trump. Meanwhile, 31% claimed Trump coverage has been the right amount. 19% said there has not been enough coverage about the former President.
The polling from CBS News took place last week and sampled responses from more than 500 “likely Republican primary voters”.
