Oregon’s DOJ cited segments about U.S. Dominion, Inc. and Smartmatic USA Corp. rigging the 2020 election and the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich as examples of putting shareholders’ money at risk.

“We aim to hold Fox’s board of directors, including Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, accountable for their decisions,” Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read told the New York Times. “We believe that this action is necessary in fulfilling our obligation to our beneficiaries.”

“Nobody likes losing their money as a result of preventable lawsuits,” Brad Lander, New York City’s Comptroller, added citing Fox’s $787.7 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems in April.
