Tucker Carlson is continuing his debate counter-programming with another high-profile interview. This time, he’ll sit down with another former Fox News host: Bill O’Reilly.
Carlson famously dropped an interview with former President Donald Trump before the first Republican Presidential debate that was scheduled to air on Fox News. Carlson was let go from the cable outlet in April of this year.
Many suggested Carlson was looking to harm the ratings for the first Presidential debate, in which Trump refused to participate. Carlson has continually claimed the Trump campaign approached him with the idea and not vice versa.
The next Republican Presidential debate is scheduled for tonight at 9:00 PM ET and will air on FOX Business Network and Univision.
In an interview with Jeff Katz on WRVA, O’Reilly revealed he had interviewed with Carlson to promote his latest book Killing the Witches: The Horrors of Salem, Massachusetts.
Like Carlson, O’Reilly was ousted by Fox News unceremoniously in 2017. However, his departure was tied to the revelation that several colleagues accused of him of sexual harassment, with O’Reilly paying settlements to resolve the cases.
