The Radio Hall of Fame has announced its 2023 Legends of Radio inductees, with Saga Communications founder and former CEO Ed Christian and New York radio legend Bob Grant being tabbed as two of the 12 honorees.
Christian founded Saga Communications in 198. As CEO, he oversaw its growth to 79 FM stations and 35 AM stations in 27 markets. The founder died in August of last year after a brief illness.
Bob Grant is considered a pioneer of the conservative talk radio format, working at 710 WOR and 77 WABC, among other New York stations, from 1970 to his exit from WOR in 2006. He also previously worked at WBBM, KNX, and KABC in Chicago and Los Angeles, respectively. He died in 2013 at the age of 84.

“It’s heartfelt recognition to see these individuals and their career contributions to the radio industry recognized with this induction,” co-Chair of the Radio Hall of Fame Kraig T. Kitchin said. “They’ve made a forever impact on the audiences and businesses they interacted with and for that, we’re grateful.”
“Gone but never forgotten, these Legends of the radio industry deserve to be recognized as Hall of Famers and it is an honor to induct them to the Radio Hall of Fame. From programmers to talent to executives, these individuals are the best of the best,” added co-chair Dennis Green.
The Legends of Radio inductees join eight others who were voted to the Hall of Fame earlier this year to make up the Class of 2023.
The Radio Hall of Fame will recognize its inductees on Thursday, November 2nd at the InterContinential New York Barclay Hotel in New York City.
