Gregg Giannotti has been well-traveled in his radio career. However, he knows facilities and equipment at some stations aren’t quite what you’ll see in major markets.
During Boomer & Gio Tuesday, the topic of the recent on-air dustup between 92.3 The Fan’s Ken Carman and Anthony Lima was broached.
Giannotti said that he “loved” the interaction, while update anchor Jerry Recco asked about the station’s studio setup.
“They’re clearly not in a studio, right?,” Recco questioned due to the viral video showing the pair on a split screen. “Are they on Zoom?”
“I think they’re both in the studio in different rooms so they can have the cameras on so they can clip stuff like this. I think that’s what’s going on. They’re just in different rooms. Radio stations, once you get past market five, get really dicey. I know this for a fact.”
“That is a strange deal,” said Boomer Esiason about the setup at 92.3 The Fan. “It is a strange, strange deal.”
Boomer & Gio airs on both WFAN and CBS Sports Network from a fully-functioning television studio.
